The free hosting tips as stated below will show you how to find a working free web host and the things you need to consider when go for it.

How do the free web hosts make money?

The free web hosting companies often get money through other ways, such as placing pop-ups, banners or other ad on your free web pages. Volunteers are organized in the WWW after quake in Christchurch

New Zealand hundreds of students use social network Facebook, to be organized in teams to help victims of an earthquake struck the country.

The idea came from a student of law at Canterbury University Sam Johnson after he learned that his lessons are canceled for a week after the quake force by 7 degrees in Richter shook Christchurch, the second largest city in New Zealand.
"On Saturday evening I saw all these groups on Facebook such as" I survived the earthquake, let’s get drunk "and others – tells 21-year-old student who believes that survivors of such disasters have to do something useful for society .

Johnson created the group "Basis for student volunteers to clean the devastation of the earthquake, having urged his colleagues to help clean up debris around the city after the most devastating earthquake in New Zealand for the past almost 80 years.

"The response was amazing – the student says, describing how 300 people were included in the group during the first day and now almost 1900 have signed up to join the group Volunteers walked around the city, equipped with shovels, buckets and carts. Started work in groups of 20 people, acting in close liaison with the emergency authorities.

"Some people broke into tears when we came," said Johnson. "Their yards are cluttered with pieces and find it difficult to cope alone. They need a little help."
According to the originator, not only students willing to participate and their hands dirty with useful work. "They come from schools and children, great to see young enthusiasts to help.

So far volunteers have received more than 5000 messages of support from around the world. According to Johnson, the initiative would be impossible without modern social networks. "Perhaps one could do anything with email, but can not reach these numbers," he says.

Facebook vs. Greenpeace

Facebook meet Greenpeace’s attack against the plans of the IT company for its new data center in Oregon.

Facebook announced that its newest TsoD will be truly a model for energy efficiency, despite all the accusations of eco-organization.

A few days ago Greenpeace launched a campaign against Facebook for exerting pressure to stop using electricity from coal-fired plants.

Concerns of environmental groups on Facebook and its new big data center in Prinvil, Oregon, are associated with that facility will be twice bigger than expected and will work with electricity mix, which disproportionately strong coal present at largest source of global warming.

Director of Facebook Policy Shnit Communications Barry responded by saying that the planned data center is selected with a focus on energy efficiency. Shnit noted that Facebook, like any other company does not control the fuel source for their electricity.

It is true that 58% of the region’s electricity is produced by coal, compared with 50% average for the country, said Shnit, but on the other hand TsoD new site was chosen because of its temperate climate that allows Facebook to use in efficient refrigerators and not the traditional electric air conditioners, ever hungry for power. They represent one of the major consumers of electricity.

By consolidating in one place instead of renting space in various locations, Facebook can design center for maximum efficiency.

Shnit said facility in Oregon will have a rating of energy efficiency of 1.15, well below industry averages. Google, which is considered a leader in this respect for rating last month was about 1.17.

Google, Facebook, Yahoo and other IT companies are investing billions of dollars building data centers to meet growing demand for Web services.

Given that energy is a cost to them, these Web companies have a major financial motivation to use as possible less electricity.

This and rising environmental concerns have led to projects that optimize cooling, which traditionally consumes about half the energy used in data centers.
